County Athletics success!

Five Year Six athletes (Jonah, Dom, Phoebe, Hannah and Dylan) from Byerley Park qualified for the County Athletics Finals. This was held on 30th June at Shildon Running Track. All five athletes qualified for the event by coming first, second or third in the recent Sedgefield Athletics event.

For the County Final, the children were part of the Sedgefield team which was made up from different schools in the Sedgefield area, all competing in individual events and a team relay. The competition was gruelling but the children gave it their all and supported each other immensely. Team highlights included a silver medal for Jonah in the triple jump and a gold medal and county record for Phoebe in the howler throw.

Every single point was important and with the fantastic combined scores of all team members, Sedgefield came away victorious and were the overall team champions of the County Final. An absolutely fantastic result!
